Adding a Line

Previous page Next page

Once connection points have been defined, it is possible to add a Line component. To add a line, click on the Lines folder in the sub-component list, and press the Add button. Select Pipeline from the drop-down list and rename it to Pipeline(1).

The Start Point and End Point entries provide a list of all the connection points in the model.  Select _TensionerVCP(1) from the Start Point list and Seabed Connection from the End Point list.

The Internal Fluid drop-down list allows you to associate an Internal Fluid component with the pipeline. In this example, the pipeline is assumed to be empty, so you may ignore it.

The Sag Option drop-down list allows you to specify where the transition between the sagbend and overbend regions in a pipeline occurs. Four options are provided, namely Auto, Manual, Guide and None. Further details on these options are provided in a separate article. For Example 3, the Auto option is most appropriate.

The model preview window is automatically updated to continually reflect alterations to the model. The final model preview for this example is shown in the figure below, and you can see the Vessel, the Pipeline and the Seabed and Vessel Connections.
