The Model component is built around a simplified spring-mass solver that continually recalculates the model profile as you progressively add components. The Model component allows individual Line components, Vessel components, seabed data and water depth to be collated together to build a complete pipeline installation model. It allows you to build complex models with relative ease, and also provides a very useful model preview facility. Typically, a model is built up incrementally, with various components being added in a logical sequence. For example, once a Seabed component and a water depth have been specified, a vessel and a line may then be added. The model preview window is automatically updated to continually reflect alterations to the model. The Model component is referenced by the Analysis component, where it is combined with environmental loading, installation criteria etc. to set up an installation analysis.
