1.The line layout option allows for easy conversion of RAO spreadsheets as the layout consists of a series of simple columns which can be created by saving the Excel data as a csv file, which in turn can be read by PipeLay.

2.Use the RAO Checking Module to verify that the RAO data is correct.

3.The Vessel Motion Timetrace History analysis is also useful for checking vessel RAO data. It allows for closely reviewing the vessel motions under a specified wave loading. From such reviews, it is possible to identify the times of peak/governing vessel motions. Then using the identified times one can refine their actual dynamic analyses to just focus around the time of peak/governing motion (by changing the analysis start and end times appropriately).

4.Do not forget to assign the necessary Vessel Motion component to the actual Vessel component; see drop down list at bottom of Vessel component. This is a common mistake that leads to no vessel motions during dynamic analysis. Note that the Status area on the PipeLay UI informs you of such omissions so please review it when running an analysis.
