The Pipe Section component is used to specify the properties of an individual section of pipeline that has uniform properties. A single Pipe Section component typically constitutes a large part or all of a pipeline. The Pipe Section component view is divided into three tabs as shown in the figure below:

The three tabs are summarised as follows and are described in the following articles:
▪Properties – you use this tab to define the base section and any coatings.
▪Attachments – you use this tab to specify attachments such as buoyancy material or strakes.
▪SIFs – you use this tab to specify Stress/Strain Intensity Factors (SIFs) for postprocessing, including fatigue analysis.
