Modelling a Pullhead

You can use an Ancillary component to model the pullhead. To create an Ancillary component in the Line folder, right-click the folder and select New > Line > Ancillary.

You will notice that there is an Ancillary Type drop-down list, which provides two options; Simplified and Complex. This governs how the component is to be modelled – as a point buoy or as a beam element. For this example, the Simplified option is sufficient.

Set the pullhead properties to the values given in Example 3 by pressing the Properties button and entering the data as shown in the figure below.

Press OK to confirm the data, the dialog closes, and the Component View is updated as shown in the figure below.
