All the rollerboxes in this example are the same and a single Support component can be used to define all of them. To create a support in the Stinger folder, right-click the folder and select New > Stinger > Support. Rename this support to V-Rollerbox.
The Support Type drop-down list provides three options – Double-V Support, O-Shaped Support and Zero-Gap O Support. The first allows you to model standard rollerbox supports, e.g. Flat, U-shaped, V-shaped etc., the second allows you to model cylindrical supports and the last allows you to model fully contacting enclosed supports. For this example, you will use V-shaped supports and the default selection is the appropriate one.
Double-V supports are defined in terms of a series of lengths and angles and allow the creation of arbitrary supports, having between one and five sides. In order to model a V-shaped support – you should set the roller lengths L1 to zero, L2 and L3 to 1m, and the roller angles θ1 to 30° and θ2 to 90°. Click on the Support Properties button and enter the values outlined in Example 3 and as shown in the figure below.
