As mentioned previously, at the start of each analysis run, the GUI generates an analysis specification file from all the input data, creating a finite element model of the installation scenario under consideration. This analysis specification file is then read by the PipeLay analysis engine. As the analysis progresses, the analysis engine generates a detailed output file, analysis.out, that can be examined after the run has ended.
This file is a plain text file and may be examined with any text editor, including the Wood PLC File Viewer. It contains a substantial amount of information, including details of the finite element discretisation, the environment and loading to which the model is subjected and details of the results of the analysis.
