1.The Rigid section type assumes large (rigid) stiffness values and negligible hydrodynamic properties for stinger sections. Therefore if you wish to have greater control over the stinger properties you should consider the other section types, Flexible (pipe based hydrodynamic properties) and Flexible Hydro (buoy based hydrodynamic properties).

2.If the net buoyancy of a stinger section is a variable/unknown then there is an automatic calculation/optimisation process that can be carried out by the PipeLay analysis engine where it determines a set of suitable net buoyancy values across all the stinger sections so as to keep them at their pre-defined angles/orientations during static loading.
