Description

Axis Type:

A drop-down list which allows you to select the type of axis system in which a point load or point moment is to be applied. The options are Global (the default) and Local.

Axis System:

A drop-down list that allows you to select an Axis System component from all those currently defined in the project. This drop-down list is only activated when you select Local from the Axis Type drop-down list.

Description

DOF 1:

The component of the load in degree of freedom (DOF) 1, which can be either the global X direction or the x-axis in a user-defined local axis system.

Units: [kN] or [kips]

DOF 2:

The component of the load in DOF 2, which can be either the global Y direction or the y-axis in a user-defined local axis system.

Units: [kN] or [kips]

DOF 3:

The component of the load in DOF 3, which can be either the global Z direction or the z-axis in a user-defined local axis system.

Units: [kN] or [kips]

DOF 4:

The component of an applied moment in DOF 4, which can be around either the global X direction or the x-axis in a user-defined local axis system.

Units: [kNm] or [kips.ft]

DOF 5:

The component of an applied moment in DOF 5, which can be around either the global Y direction or the y-axis in a user-defined local axis system.

Units: [kNm] or [kips.ft]

DOF 6:

The component of an applied moment in DOF 6, which can be around either the global Z direction or the z-axis in a user-defined local axis system.

Units: [kNm] or [kips.ft]
