IMPORTANT: Before trying to install PipeLay on Windows™ 10, you should note that several of the installation steps require administrator privileges. If you do not have administrator access to your machine, please contact your Systems Department before proceeding.

PipeLay 64 Bit

Starting with PipeLay Version 3.2, the analysis engine is released in a 64 bit version, in addition to the usual 32 bit version. The use of PipeLay 64 bit should yield performance benefits for the post processing of analyses, as post processing is memory intensive and the 64 bit application will have access to more memory if available. It is recommended that you install the 64 bit version, if your computer is running a 64 bit operating system. This can be determined by clicking the Start button, typing Computer in the search box, right-click Computer and select Properties. The operating system can be found under the System section. You can install either 32 bit or 64 bit, or both on a 64 bit operating system. You can only install a 32 bit version on a 32 bit operating system. Both the Starter and the Full Editions of PipeLay are released in 32 and 64 bit versions.

Removing Previous Versions of PipeLay

If you wish to remove earlier versions of PipeLay before installing the new version, simply use the ‘Add/Remove Programs’ entry in the Windows™ Control Panel. If you do not uninstall the earlier versions, it is recommended that you install the new version into a new directory.
